Our Story
In 2022, K-Love The Poet released "Sistahood" — a spoken-word piece celebrating the power of women's friendships. Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Fantasia, and thousands of women across the globe reshared it — amassing nearly 10 million views and 3.4M+ views on the Sistahood video alone.
A 3x published author and awarded humanitarian, K-Love is a Chicago Defender Women of Excellence Honoree, Women of Pan-Africa Award recipient, Martin Luther King Jr. Award honoree, and 40 Under 40 Women's League inductee. She holds a Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to spoken word, and her likeness has been immortalized in a mural at Chicago's North Lawndale Firehouse Art Center.
Known as the "Mother of the Southside," K-Love has performed for President Barack Obama and regularly mentors underserved youth across Chicago. She uses her artistry as a tool for healing — guiding men in addiction recovery through her husband's rehabilitation organization, leading reentry programs for formerly incarcerated men, and facilitating her powerful Scars Workshop to help participants find freedom through emotional expression.
Now in its 4th year, The Art of Sistahood tour spans 6 cities, has served over 2,000 women, and continues to grow as a national movement of healing, connection, and empowerment.
